It’s been said that you physically cannot forget how to ride a bike; once you learn it, that’s it. Most people start out when they are little and may even have the full padded ensemble to protect them in case they fall. Like that padding, Encharter wants to protect you and your family and make sure that you are using your best judgment when biking, regardless of your age. Whether you are a parent looking for kids biking safety tips or you are just looking for biking safety tips for yourself, a little research can go a long way.

1.    WEAR A HELMET (for recreation or sport), even though some local laws state that after the age of 12 you are no longer required to wear one, you are never too old!

2.    Do NOT bike on sidewalks

3.    TIE  your shoes laces

4.    If you have loose legged pants on, you should CUFF the pant leg on the side of the chain

5.    Go WITH traffic

6.    Be AWARE of cars and traffic around you

7.    Use hand SIGNALS

8.    AVOID using headphones and earbuds as they limit your ability to hear what’s going on around you, even if they are only on a low volume
